In my family, we generally stop receiving money for birthday's when we turn about 13 or so. I started integrating this policy for my friend's as we're turning reaching 18 and beyond. However, I have noticed other friends including gift cards or presents for them, and i don't want to be rude. Is it rude not to give someone turning 18 something for there birthday, besides a card? These aren't particularly close friends keep in mind.We care about the people in our lives. Gifts are how we recognize those we care about on days that are important to them. We do not have to spend a great deal of money in order to let someone know that we are thinking about them. There are also those who we will not have to give gifts to at all. The key is to realize those who define gift giving as an expression of caring and feel it is important. It is not for us to decide what make others feel cared for. But…it is our place to realize who those people are.
When do you stop giving gifts to friends for their birthday's?
